Telling the Stories of Orphans

I am Tanyne Susan born in Widikum, age 32, and HIV positive.I am an orphan with two children. My mother died and family relatives sold the house we lived in. I went to meet my half brother but he rejected my two children and I and believed that we might infect him and his family. We sought refuge in a one bed room offered to us by a friend. I was formerly selling boiled eggs. Thieves broke into my house and stole everything. I am stranded and do not know what to do. We do not have food to eat and I can’t pay my children’s school fees. My children are in primary 3 and 4 respectively. School fees are $60, school shoes $11, uniform $11, books $33. If I have startup capital, I will start a provision store. Profits from the business will help me take care of my health and send my children to school. We welcome donations of any kind.

My name is Acha Ralph. I am an orphan. My mother died of AIDS when I was a child. I was always sick and was later tested HIV+. I lived with my uncle and my uncle supported me to go to school from primary school up until my third year in secondary school. However, another uncle returned to live in my village of Batibo and he demanded that my uncle kick me out of the house with fear that I would infect his children with HIV. My uncle listened, and now I am living on my own. I have been promoted to Form 4, but I am struggling to pay my rent, put food on the table, stay healthy, and go to school. My dream is to be a construction worker. Any support you can assist me with would be greatly appreciated. My school fees are $55, registration for exams are $33, and my health situation and shelter $200.

My name are Agba Marienette. I am an orphan. I am 16 years old. My mother and father died of HIV. I am the only person going to school because of the kind donations of families and friends. Any time I progress in class additional cost is inqured. I live with my grandmother who is presently sick. I do not know if I will go to school this academic year. I am a student of GBHS Bamenda. I am in form 4. My school fees are $30,books and school materials $70,transportation $120,feeding $70. I want to go to school so that when I graduate I will be able to educate my kid brother and sister, take care of my grandmother and build a house where we can both live happily.
